BSP - (British Standard Pipe) is the most commonly used standard in Europe. BSP is also called the Whitworth thread. BSP comes in two thread types: BSPT (British Standard Pipe Tapered) and BSPP (Britsh Standard Pipe Parallel or cylindrical pipe thread).
NPT - is an abbreviation of National Pipe Thread. It is an American standard where the end determines whether it is a straight or tapered thread. For example, NPT, National Pipe Tapered which is conical and seals the threads.
Metric thread - exists both as conical and parallel. A metric thread is the most commonly used in Europe. A metric thread is often noted as "M" followed by the outer diameter and pitch between two thread highlights – e.g. M22 x 1.5.
JIC/Unified – referred to as JIC Fitting, which has a metal-to-metal seal with a 37gr. excavation and straight UNF thread.
